TruCo is a charitable organization oriented toward gathering people, resources, and training to bring light and warmth to people and communities around the world. Through the services of our volunteers and employees, TruCo generates a meaningful change in peoples’ lives by providing income opportunities, education, clothing, housing, and food, as well as sporting teams and events for youth.
Our mission is to improve the well-being of those who are underserved and marginalized. We focus our aid efforts on communities and individuals who face multiple barriers to access, such as the mentally ill, homeless, widows, orphans, and those reentering the community after incarceration. Life can present immense challenges to everyone in the community, leading to massive inequity amongst community members. We aim to level that inequity by providing the disadvantaged with a leg up and a second start.
We have dedicated programs for youth based around sport. Developing sports teams in communities provide kids with activities to keep them happy and healthy. Being skilled at sports can be a huge advantage to the kinds of scholastic opportunities some kids can have. Our teams are supported by volunteer sports idols and facilitated by qualified tutors who offer free homework study groups for when kids are off the field.
As part of the income opportunities we provide, many that we have aided have come along to join us in continuing to serve more communities. It brings us joy to no end when those who have been positively affected by TruCo go on to pass on the deep, meaningful change we aspire to. We believe that part of healing is being about to turn around and provide the means for healing to somebody else.
Just in 2020-2021 alone, TruCo aided over 30,000 people with toiletries, food, water, paper products, disinfectants, as well as medical and hygiene supplies. TruCo also proudly serves as a first responding organization in the case of natural disasters such as flooding, hurricanes, pandemics, and earthquakes to mobilize aid and bring relief to communities.
